Best Florist in Northern Nevada
Years ago, we had a customer call to complain about a wreath she wasn't happy with. No problem - we told her, we stand by our 100% guarantee. We'd replace it. She happily handed us the wreath, accepted her new one, and went on her way.
When the original wreath made it back to our Design Center, the owner spotted something dangling off the back: a little Kmart tag.
It wasn't even ours.
The sweet woman had been gifted the wreath by a friend and assumed it came from Sparks Florist. And honestly? We weren't mad. If you're going to get us confused with anyone, being the gold standard that pops into your head isn't a bad reputation to have.
Fast forward to today: being named Best Florist in Northern Nevada in the 2025 RN&R Readers' Choice Awards feels a lot like that story. It's confirmation that when people around here think flowers done right, they think Sparks Florist, even if the wreath sometimes came from aisle 7 at Kmart.
Since 1960, Sparks Florist has been a family-run business. Three generations of the Fiannaca family have poured themselves into the shop, designing arrangements, making deliveries in snowstorms, sweeping petals off the floor, and - apparently - taking back wreaths we didn’t even make.
We’ve been around long enough that our work has been woven into the fabric of Northern Nevada life: the weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, grand openings, and hard goodbyes. We don’t take that lightly.
The Readers' Choice Award is about the people who don't hesitate when asked who they call for flowers, who think of Sparks Florist even when the tag says something else.
To our community: thank you for voting, for trusting us with your moments, and for keeping us in your lives for more than 60 years.
To our team: you're the real magic behind this win. Your creativity, hustle, and humor are what keep Sparks Florist blooming day after day.
We're thrilled by this award. But we're even more excited about what comes next - continuing to grow, to serve, and to bring a little joy (and maybe some wreath upgrades) to Northern Nevada.
